Two OMG staffers, Legislative Strategies Group (LSG) Vice President Tyler Craddock, and Lisa Noon, CAE RCE, Vice President of Marketing & Communications, were speakers at two recent events in August.
Tyler Craddock was the lunch speaker for the Hampton Roads Landlord Association, speaking on the topic “Impact of COVID on Landlords: What Happened and What Do We Do From Here.”
Coming on the heels of the new CDC Eviction Moratorium announced last week, the discussion covered a number of topics, including the legislation that arose on the state and federal level as a result of COVID and shifts in political power in Virginia, the CDC Eviction moratoria, continued discussion of the CARES Act 30-day notice to vacate, the Virginia Rent Relief Program, proposed reforms to the Housing Choice Voucher program, proposed changes to the HUD Disparate Impact Rule, as well as how groups like HRLA can be effective advocates.
Lisa Noon presented “Media Spokesperson Skills” to a group of National Association of Residential Property Managers (NARPM®) members. The training, which focuses on how a volunteer leader responds to media inquiries, was held for 20 members participating in a series of leadership classes.
